Wedding rings certainly are a traditional part of the wedding ceremony. They are put on to symbolize a long term commitment to each other. While the exact location of the ring finger varies around cultures, it is generally the fourth finger of the left.

The tradition of wearing an engagement ring on the fourth finger for the left hand goes back to ancient Romans and Greeks. According to these ethnicities, the vein of love — also known as Vena Amoris – ran in the heart to the left ring finger. Today, scientists do not agree on if this vein is actual, but many persons still believe in its presence.

Some cultures create a special concentrate on the vein of affection, as they think that wearing an engagement ring upon that finger is symbolic. It is also considered to be the ideal little finger for a devoted relationship.

In some European cultures, the marriage band and engagement ring are put on the same ring finger. Other cultures wear the bands in the opposite side. These include holland and Uk.

Other countries, like Greece and Turkey, traditionally dress yourself in the bands on the correct hand. But other cultures, like Republic of colombia, wear them on the left.

Some people love to have the rings to the least used fingers. This could be because they are left-handed, or since they are more expensive. Even though it is actually a tradition, it is even now up to the person to decide which will finger they wish to have the hoop on.
